Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on July 19, 2025, addressing education policy, immigration enforcement, and a diplomatic development.
In his first post at 13:44 UTC, Donalds called for action against the National Education Association (NEA), writing: “Revoke @NEA’s charter. Put students first. Take back education. I’m proud to join @RepMarkHarrisNC & @MarshaBlackburn in this fight to strip NEA of its federal charter. Our kids deserve a future in which THEY are prioritized. Not the interests of hyper-politicized union bosses.” The NEA is one of the largest labor unions representing educators in the United States.
Later that day at 18:18 UTC, Donalds acknowledged efforts leading to an individual’s return home and thanked several officials and agencies: “This is great news. Welcome home! Thank you to @POTUS, @SecRubio, @usembassyve, @aboehler, and everyone involved who made this possible.”
At 19:07 UTC on July 19, Donalds addressed comments by Representative Jerry Nadler regarding attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. He cited multiple examples in his response: “NADLER: ‘What attacks on @ICEgov agents?’ Here are just a few examples you’d find from a quick Google search… ‘Assaults on ICE Officers Surge 830%’ – https://t.co/RYqvBHkY8A ‘Fireworks and AR-15s Used in July 4 Ambush on ICE Agents’ – https://t.co/oqEoCuIiy7 ‘Illegal https://t.co/B405ayYCIV”
Byron Donalds has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after previously serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, he holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
