Congressman Byron Donalds, representing Florida’s 19th district, has been vocal on social media about his efforts to highlight and eliminate government waste. On March 20, 2025, he announced the launch of a “Donalds @DOGE Bracket,” inviting public participation in identifying instances of waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending.

In a tweet posted on March 20, 2025, “March Madness brackets may have locked at noon, but the Donalds @DOGE Bracket is now LIVE.” He emphasized collaboration with Elon Musk and DOGE over the past two months to identify significant examples of government inefficiency that require attention.

Continuing his campaign against perceived fiscal irresponsibility, Congressman Donalds presented a specific comparison in another tweet from the same date: “ROUND 1 MATCHUP: $29M to improve the skills of young and female Egyptians in the manufacturing and service sectors v. $19M to support migrants in Colombia.” This tweet aimed to engage followers in evaluating international aid expenditures.

In another post shared simultaneously on March 20, 2025, he highlighted further spending for public scrutiny: “ROUND 1 MATCHUP: $70K for a DEI musical in Ireland v. $2M to promote tourism to Lebanon.” This continues his strategy of presenting contrasting financial allocations for public judgment.
