Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of statements on November 5, 2025, addressing recent legislative actions and government operations.
In a tweet published at 16:49 UTC, Donalds announced the introduction of articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg. He wrote, “Articles of Impeachment have been introduced in the House. It’s time to impeach Judge Boasberg. We cannot let this egregious government weaponization happen again and accountability must be secured.”
Later that day, at 18:20 UTC, Donalds criticized Democratic lawmakers for their handling of federal worker pay during a government shutdown. He stated, “ICYMI: Yesterday, Democrats voted for the 15TH TIME to block the pay of federal workers. The only reason government is shut down is because Schumer and the Democrats wanted it that way. Schumer believes as Americans suffer, every day we are shut down, ‘it gets better’ for him.”
In another post at the same time, Donalds further attributed responsibility for the shutdown to Democratic members of Congress by detailing votes from both parties on key dates. He wrote, “THIS IS A DEMOCRAT SHUTDOWN: 9/19 – House GOP voted to open government 9/19 – House Democrats voted for shutdown 9/19 – Senate GOP voted to open government 9/19 – Senate Democrats voted for shutdown 9/30 – Senate GOP voted to open government 9/30 – Senate Democrats voted for”
Byron Donalds has served in Congress since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
