U.S. Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district, addressed recent legislative efforts and international events in a series of posts on August 11, 2025.

Later that day, Donalds commented on the death of Colombian Senator Miguel Uribe: “Conservative Colombian Senator and Presidential Candidate Miguel Uribe has succumbed to gunshot wounds suffered during a June assassination attempt.

Byron Donalds has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Francis Rooney and previously represented Southwest Florida in the state legislature from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
