U.S. Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district, has recently made a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from agricultural trade policy to border security and law enforcement.

On July 21, Donalds commented on tariffs imposed against Mexican tomato exporters, writing: “Back in June, I joined my colleagues in supporting @howardlutnick & @CommerceGov as they imposed tariffs on Mexican tomato exporters. Their dumping was devastating Florida tomato farmers & action had to be taken. Our tariffs are WORKING & we’re putting AMERICAN FARMERS FIRST.”

Later that day, he addressed the topic of criminal illegal aliens in another post: “1. Arrest 2. Detain 3. Deport These criminal illegal aliens should never have even been in our country. There will be no tolerance for these cop-killers and they must be prosecuted to the fullest-extent of the law.”

On July 22, Donalds highlighted a recent drug interception by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), stating: “BREAKING: @CBP has intercepted $1M+ worth of ketamine headed to Florida. Thank you to all involved for your tireless work to keep us safe. This is why we just passed the largest border security package in a generation. We are Making America Safe Again.”

Byron Donalds has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Francis Rooney and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, in 1978, he currently resides in Naples and holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
