Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of issues on his official social media account, including public safety in Washington D.C., an educational initiative from the White House, and a statement condemning anti-Catholic violence.

On August 26, 2025, Donalds commented on safety concerns in the nation’s capital by sharing a story and stating: “MUST WATCH: @IrisTaoTV’s story is all-too-common in our nation’s capital. It doesn’t have to be this way. We must Make DC Safe Again for ALL AMERICANS.”

Later that day, he highlighted an educational challenge launched by the First Lady for K-12 students: “ATTENTION K-12 STUDENTS @FLOTUS has officially announced the 2025 Presidential Artificial Intelligence Challenge. Students & educators of all backgrounds & expertise are encouraged to participate & ignite a new spirit of innovation. On August 27, 2025, following an attack targeting Catholic individuals or institutions in Florida, Donalds expressed condolences and condemned religiously motivated violence: “We mourn the innocent souls lost, we pray for the health of those injured, and we stand with our Catholic neighbors across the Sunshine State and the nation in the wake of this despicable attack. There is no place in our nation for this appalling anti-Catholic terrorism.”

Byron Donalds has served as a member of Congress since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021. Prior to his tenure in Washington D.C., he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
