Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues of crime and public safety in a series of posts on August 18 and 19, 2025.
On August 18, Donalds commented on a recent incident in St Lucie County, stating: “3 innocent people were killed in St Lucie County because CA wrongly issued a driver’s license to an illegal alien. He shouldn’t have been here. He shouldn’t have received a license. THIS NEVER SHOULD’VE HAPPENED. We pray for the victims & their families. Justice must be served.”
The following day, he highlighted new legislative efforts regarding crime policy in Washington D.C., quoting Floridian Press: “.@Floridianpress: ‘..another piece of legislation addressing crime in the capital introduced by Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL), which lowers D.C.’s definition of a youth from 24 years old to under 18, resulting in individuals 18 and older properly treated and tried as” The tweet included an incomplete sentence about how adults would be prosecuted under the proposed law.

Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th District since replacing Francis Rooney in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, he is currently based in Naples and holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
