Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 6 and 7, 2025, addressing topics ranging from political rivalries to law enforcement and international remembrance.
On October 6, Donalds alleged misconduct by a political candidate in Virginia: “Jay Jones wants to be the top law enforcement officer in Virginia. He wants to shoot his GOP rival He wants to urinate on his rival’s grave He calls his rival’s children ‘little fascists’ He wants his rival’s children to die Charlie Kirk was murdered less than a month” (October 6, 2025).
Later that day, Donalds commented on an incident involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Chicago. He wrote: “Back in July, Jerry Nadler refused to even acknowledge that @ICEgov agents are under attack. It’s happened countless times since and it just happened again: Agitators in Chicago attacked ICE agents and local police were told to stand-down while the attack ensued. Now more than” (October 6, 2025).
On October 7, marking the second anniversary of the October 7 attacks in Israel, Donalds stated: “On this solemn, 2nd anniversary of Oct. 7th, we remember the thousands of innocent souls lost and the despicable barbarism perpetrated by genocidal agents of terror. We pray for the release of all hostages, for a lasting peace in the Middle East, and for an end to anti-Semitism.” (October 7, 2025).
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th district since replacing Francis Rooney in Congress in 2021. Prior to his congressional service, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples at age 44, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
