Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on social media reflecting on local losses, community safety, and educational achievements.
On September 24, 2025, Donalds acknowledged the passing of four individuals described as heroes and paid tribute to one of them from his district: “Last week, our nation lost 4 heroes. Among the fallen included CW3 Andrew Kraus of Sanibel. Erika & I join our Southwest Florida community in praying for the strength of the Kraus family. May Andrew’s lasting legacy of service, sacrifice, & patriotism be a blessing to us all.”
The following day, on September 25, he commented on developments at Florida A&M University (FAMU), referencing both presidential and state leadership as well as his own experience at the institution: “President Trump’s leadership, combined with strong state support, has positioned @FAMU_1887 to thrive for generations to come. As someone who once sat in FAMU classrooms, I am proud to say that the future on the “Highest of Seven Hills” has never looked brighter.”
Later that same day, Donalds expressed gratitude toward law enforcement officials from Southwest Florida who visited Washington D.C.: “Thank you @CCSOFLSheriff Bill Prummell and your team for joining us last week in our nation’s capital. The safety and security of our greater Southwest Florida community is paramount and non-negotiable. Together, we’re working to ensure the American people are ALWAYS PUT FIRST.”
Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th congressional district since 2021 after previously serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020.
