Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media account on August 20, 2025, to comment on issues related to immigration policy and criminal justice.

On August 20, 2025, Donalds posted: “Let’s break this down..

Singh is an ILLEGAL ALIEN
Singh FAILED his English Proficiency Test
Singh FAILED his Road Sign Test
CA STILL gave him a Driver’s License

And Singh used that license to drive to Florida where he killed 3 innocent Americans. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED.”

Later the same day, Donalds continued: “Illegal alien Harjinder Singh never should’ve been in our country but CA provided him sanctuary.

I’m proud to support @RepChipRoy’s HR 5005.

HR 5005: (1) Strips federal funds to sanctuary jurisdictions & (2) Mandates creation of a public database of all sanctuary jurisdictions.”

In another post from August 20, Donalds addressed criminal justice policy in Washington D.C.: “In DC, 18-24 y/o criminals are eligible to be charged & tried as juveniles.

This is wrong.

My bill, HR 4922 – ‘The DC CRIMES Act’ ensures if you’re 18 or older, you’re charged an adult.

Thank you @AmericaNewsroom, @DanaPerino, & @BillMelugin_ for covering this critical issue.”

Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th District since replacing Francis Rooney in Congress in 2021. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
