Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media account addressing recent events and commemorations.

On September 10, 2025, Donalds commented on an incident involving Charlie Kirk by stating, “.@charliekirk11 is an American Patriot. He did not deserve this heinous act. NOBODY DOES. Pray for Charlie.”

The following day, September 11, 2025, he reflected on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks: “Twenty-four years ago, our nation experienced horrific loss and destruction at the hands of radical Islamic terrorists. Tonight, I will join together with leaders from across our greater South Florida community to honor the memories of the thousands of innocent Americans lost in”.

In another post later that morning, Donalds highlighted Rick Rescorla’s actions during the attacks: “Rick Rescorla was a Vietnam War Veteran and Morgan Stanley’s Security Officer in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He was convinced that the World Trade Center was a target and conducted regular evacuation drills. Then it happened. Rick heroically stepped into action,”

Byron Donalds has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after succeeding Francis Rooney and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
