Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on August 19, 2025, addressing several legislative and national security issues.

On August 19, Donalds criticized the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), stating, “Since its inception in Dodd-Frank, the CFPB has served as a left-wing tool to stifle domestic economic growth, target political opponents, and prevent the development of competition. In the 117th Congress I introduced H.R.6409–The Repeal CFPB Act In the 118th Congress I”.

Later that day, he commented on actions taken against national security officials involved in what he called the “Russia Hoax.” Donalds wrote on August 19: “Current & former national security officials who pushed the Russia Hoax just lost their security clearances. They weaponized our government. They pushed proven lies for politics. They defied the democratic process. We must DRAIN THE SWAMP & CLEAN HOUSE in our nation’s capital.”

In another post from August 19, Donalds highlighted his efforts regarding crime legislation in Washington D.C., quoting a NEWSMAX segment: “.@NEWSMAX: ‘Byron Donalds…has reintroduced a D.C. crime bill to override local council. He spoke about it on National Report with Emma Rechenberg and Shaun Kraisman.'”

Byron Donalds has represented Florida’s 19th District since 2021 after serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. Born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently residing in Naples, he holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
