Congressman Byron Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on August 1, 2025, addressing anti-Semitism at Florida State University, the recovery of a Tampa police officer, and support for ICE agents.

In his first post at 18:16 UTC, Donalds wrote: “In the Sunshine State, we stand with our Jewish neighbors. Thank you @PresMcCullough & @FloridaState for taking quick & decisive action to deal with this matter. Anti-Semitism will not be tolerated on the campus of Florida State University or anywhere in the State of Florida.”

Later that evening at 19:30 UTC, he commented on news regarding a Tampa police officer: “This is amazing news! As of last night, @TampaPD Master Police Officer Jordan Laupert has officially been released from the hospital & is now recovering at home. Erika & I pray for Jordan’s continued speedy recovery & thank him for his courageous service to the Sunshine State.”

At 19:46 UTC, Donalds addressed attacks on ICE agents and criticized Democrats: “Democrats like Jerry Nadler refuse to even acknowledge that ICE agents are under attack: https://t.co/NeRi9lLRXm Well, it just HAPPENED AGAIN. Now more than ever, we must stand with the heroic men and women of @ICEgov who are working around the clock to Make America Safe Again.”

Byron Donalds has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Francis Rooney and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. He was born in Brooklyn in 1978 and currently resides in Naples. Donalds holds degrees from both Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
